NFMS Parents, Teachers, and Students!
It is my pleasure to write to you all today. The intent of my letter is I want to personally introduce the NFMS PTSO and share what we do, who we are, and how you can get involved.
The NFMS PTSO is a nonprofit organization, separate from the school administration, that was created to enhance and support the educational experience at North Forsyth Middle School, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement, to enhance the community and service mindset of our students and to improve the environment at North Forsyth Middle School through parent and community volunteers and financial support.
The NFMS PTSO Board consists of the following members: School Head Administrator, President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Communications Secretary, Treasurer, Student Events Director, Teacher Events Director, Fundraising Director, School Store Operations Director, and Spirit Wear Director. Each of these roles is vital to the overall functionality of the operations we engage in to create the best experience for parents, staff and our students.
As a board we are consistently partnering and collaborating with the school administration on ways to create community engagement and enhance our students’ experience. Membership is granted to each parent, teacher, and student upon the completion of the application process. We do ask that only teachers and parents complete the application, which can be found through the school website, or the link provided above.
By completing the application and providing your contact information, we can share upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and for those who donate financially, there are always incentives.
There are many benefits from volunteering your time. We have plenty of volunteer opportunities and we have an enormous need for volunteers. Volunteering your time in our school is crucial to help create the best environment for our students and teachers. It’s a great way to connect with your student and their friends, and much more.
As we know that many are unable to volunteer their time but have the means of donating, we are deeply appreciative for any donations we receive. Our fundraising efforts help so many areas of our school. Fundraising helps cover costs like: Teacher Continuing Educational Conferences, School Two-way Radios for staff and student safety, many school enhancement and beautification projects, teacher appreciation events, some student events, and much more. By donating to the PTSO, we allocate these funds directly back into the school so that each of the students can benefit.

As you can imagine, the PTSO is dedicatedly working to bring the best to our school, our school staff, and our students.
